Rate My Stitch Event Overview

Are you ready to strut your stuff? The Spring 2023 update is here, introducing the new Rate My Stitch system and special event! If you’ve ever wanted to showcase your unique style, or need inspiration for your next stitch, this is the place for you. Let’s take a look at everything Maxwell Sharp has to offer!

What is Rate My Stitch?

Rate My Stitch is your one-stop-shop for all things fashion! Maxwell Sharp is our new fancy feathered friend, and he lives in the Shopping District. Talk to him to learn more about Rate My Stitch, and to participate in the special events. You can flaunt your fashion by submitting your own stitch to be viewed by others, or you can view, rate, and try on other people’s outfits.

Adding Your Own Outfit

Now is your time to dress to impress! You can put your own style up for review by talking to Maxwell and selecting Add An Outfit. Your submission will be the outfit you are currently wearing and the pet you have equipped. Only the design/look of your outfit is submitted, no stats. Stats mean nothing when it comes to fashion, darling!

Not only are you going to be judged on the clothes you wear and the pet you have, but also on your overall vibe. When you add an outfit, you need to select the accompanying teleport effect and emote to be showcased with it. The emote and teleport effect you choose will be previewed when you make your selection from the menu, so play around to see which one suits your outfit best! If the Rate My Stitch Event is running, you can also select the tick-box that indicates whether your submission is an overall design, or catered towards the specific theme for the current event.

Once you have submitted your outfit, it will be available for other wizards to view and rate. Under the My Outfits tab you can see your submission and how many stars it has been rated so far. You can also remove your submission here. Currently, you can only submit one outfit at a time. However, during the Rate My Stitch Event, you can submit an additional outfit that fits the theme. More on that later!

Rating Outfits

In a similar way to Castle Tours, you can view and rate random outfits by selecting Rate An Outfit. First, the wizard will teleport in, then strut the catwalk accompanied by their pet, and finally show off their emote. After that, you can give your rating out of 10 stars. When you make your decision, make sure you consider all the components of the look: teleport effect, emote, pet, and the outfit itself!

The Leaderboard & Fashion Studio

If you’re looking for the most stylish wizards in the Spiral, the Leaderboard is the place to find them. You can view the wizards with the best-rated outfits here, and get a taste of which designs are currently trendy. If you really like the outfit and want to see more details, you can hover over the item icons on the left hand side to see which gear pieces or pet that wizard has equipped. This is a great way to get some inspiration for your next stitch!

In the Fashion Studio, you can go one step further and try on the outfits from the Leaderboard to see how they would look on your wizard! You can also switch out specific gear pieces between the Leaderboard outfit and the stitch you are currently wearing to create your own unique design. Have a play and see what beautiful (or monstrous) outfits you can create!

Rate My Stitch Special Event

Just like the Spiral Scene celebrates the Castle Tours system, we now have the Rate My Stitch Event, with unique tasks and rewards. Each event will have its own style theme, which your outfits will need to cater towards. By completing any of the Rate My Stitch tasks while the event is active, you receive special event points. When you accumulate a certain number of these points, you can unlock unique rewards. These special event points also count towards the Scroll of Fortune, which is a great incentive!

After the event is over, the Event Leaderboard showing all the highest rated themed outfits from the past week will be posted. The Hall of Fame tab will show all the highest rated outfits from various previous events: a celebration of all the most-loved stitches in the Spiral!

We also have guides for Wizard101’s other Special Events: Beastmoon Hunt, Beastmoon Mayhem, Deckathalon, Spiral Scene, Pet Promenade and Spiral Showcase.

Points & Activities

As mentioned above, the Rate My Stitch Event will reward you for rating stitches from other players. Each task will reward you with a different number of points. It is possible to obtain 15 points per day during the Rate My Stitch Event, and potentially even more if you earn Judge’s Choice. If you’re aiming for the top reward, make sure you participate in the event for 7 days. You don’t need anything to participate – just bring your fashion sense!

  • Rate an Overall Stitch (5 points per day) – After talking to Maxwell Sharp, select Rate An Outfit. When the Event is active, you will have the choice between Event-specific (Event) or general (Overall) outfits to browse through. To get the maximum Event points per day, you will need to rate 5 Overall outfits and 10 Event outfits.
  • Rate an Event Stitch (10 points per day) – As you might have guessed, the same applies as the task above. These tasks won’t take long, but it’s worth taking your time to consider each outfit and how it fits the theme before casting your vote!
  • Earn Judges’ Choice (50 points per event) – To earn Judge’s Choice, you need to have an outfit submitted to Maxwell that fits the event theme. If your outfit is one of the highest rated, then it has a chance to be designated Judge’s Choice. Any points you earn from this can be picked up by visiting the My Outfits page. This is only obtainable once per event!

The Rewards

The more points you have, the more rewards you get! If you are earning 15 points per day, you will unlock a reward almost every day. Let’s see what you can expect at each milestone.

  • 10 points – Needle & Shield
  • 15 points – 12 Wood Buttons
  • 25 points – Thimble Helm
  • 30 points – Tailormail
  • 45 points – 12 Tailor Chalk
  • 60 points – Thread Treads
  • 85 points – Stitch Token
  • 105 points – 12 Pin Cushions

This Event is currently the only source of new reagents, Wood Buttons, Pin Cushions and Tailor Chalk. These can be used to craft new stitch gear, music scrolls, emotes, teleport effects, skeleton keys and Stitch Tokens. Stitch Tokens entitle you to 1 free stitch or unstitch, so use them wisely!

Badges

Just like rating Castles, rating Stitches can earn you some sweet Badges. Stitch Stylist is rewarded after rating 20 outfits, Stitch Trendsetter is rewarded after rating 200, and Stitch Fashionista is rewarded after rating 2000 stitches. The first 20 stitches you rate per day will count towards the badge credit. Time to get rating!

  • I rate stitches every day on my wizards (8 in total). So I rate about 160 per day – today I went through and rated a lot more on one wizard because I enjoy seeing the stitches. I started seeing duplicate people show up to be rated, and some others that I had never seen throughout the entirety of the event (160 per day, remember) that were actually really good but buried for some reason. I have concerns that the randomizer is not properly functioning. If this whole stitch thing is going to be valid, it has to be completely random or the deck is stacked for or against players. I see many of the same people show up daily while others never appear at all.
