All Fishing Spells in Wizard101

Fishing is one of the main side activities in Wizard101. From code wands to permanent mounts, it can have some great rewards. If you want to catch ‘em all, the one thing you will need is fishing spells! For an introduction to fishing, check out our Beginner’s Guide.

How do I get fishing spells?

There are a total of 44 fishing spells in the game. They are either learned through the fishing questline, or purchased for gold from several trainers throughout the Spiral. There are 7 trainers, each with a different set of spells for you to learn. Lure spells are for catching fish, all others are utility spells.

You won’t need every fishing spell in order to complete the fishing quests. But if you are someone like me and want to collect them all, it will cost you a total of 141,000 gold. Luckily, nowhere near the 2,692,100 gold needed to learn every gardening spell!

At each fishing rank you acquire, more spells will become available to you. At fishing rank 6, you can learn them all. If you want to increase your fishing rank quickly, I suggest catching fish you’ve never caught before for a higher XP reward. To find them, check out our Fish Location guide!

  • Any advice on farming chests? I know the spells to use and go after the most common fish school in the location to speed things up. Also, what does fish luck do really?

    • > what does fish luck do really?

So the way that fishing works, even if you have absolutely correct timing and positioning, fish can still get away. The idea behind fishing luck is that it decreases the chance that fish will get away if timed correctly, at least from my understanding anyway. People who actually fish probably could answer this one better though.
