Questing through the higher worlds can be time consuming. Especially if you’re questing by yourself, you can take ages to complete a world. In times like those, it can be helpful to see your progress: see which areas you’ve done and which ones are still ahead of you. This guide is meant to give you courage while questing. By following the quests in this guide, you can see exactly how many more collect and defeat (C&D) quests you still have before you can move on to the next area. I hope this guide will help you keep going, as you see the list of quests get shorter and shorter with every step you take.

I’m only listing the main quest line quests, aka storyline quests, which means the ones you have to do in order to get to the next area. Side quests are not mentioned. For each world, I list the quests you have to do in a certain area. The areas are listed in the order you should do them in (unless otherwise specified). The area is not always one hundred percent correct, as certain quests can require you to run back and forward between areas to talk to people. To simplify matters, I have not listed this kind of running; the quest will say “talk” but not where the NPC is located. Also, if there is only one quest in an area, I will not mention the area separately. Between brackets are the different parts of the quest, as sometimes a quest will require you to do multiple things.

I have divided the quests in the Spiral into the following groups:

  • Talk: Quests that require an interaction with an NPC.
  • Mob: Quests that require the defeat of regular monsters.
  • D&C: Quests that require the collection of something from certain monsters (Defeat and Collect).
  • Boss: Quests that require the defeat of a boss. Elite monsters are not counted as bosses.
  • Minor Cheat: Quests that require the befeat of a boss that cheats, but whose cheats you can ignore.
  • Cheat: Quests the require the defeat of a cheating boss.
  • Double boss: Quests that require the defeat of two bosses at once.
  • Instance: Quests that require the completion of a place behind a sigil with at least 2 battles.
  • Puzzle: Quests that require the solution to a puzzle.
  • Interact: Quests that require interaction with a certain object.
  • Collect: Quests that require interaction with multiple items of a kind.
  • Explore: Quests that just require you to run towards a certain area, NPC or item.

Azteca Main Quest Line

Azteca has a total of 197 quests. Of those quests, 48 contain regular mob fights, and 25 Defeat and Collect quests. There is a total of 57 bosses, with 6 of them cheaters. Not counted as cheaters are the ones that only have a mastery of another school.

Azteca is a difficult world to cut into areas. So much running back and forth between areas! It’s really hard to see your progress when you keep having to go back to old areas. I’ve always prefered the old worlds divided into clear areas to finish before moving on to the next one. Some people might find Azteca more enjoyable exactly because it doesn’t work that way. Azteca is LONG. It’s not as long as Khrysalis, but it sure is a long journey to take.

My favorite quest has to be the one where you have to catch the cute little fish in Pitch Black Lake. They’re just SO adorable! Pitch Black Lake as a whole was very enjoyable for me. The Floating Mountains is an area I consider one of my favorites throughout the whole spiral. I love the view, the bridge of fire, the rain and the fact that it’s not too long of an area.

While misthead has written all kinds of guides, the most popular by far are her "main quest line" guides. She does have all kinds of articles under her belt, from a grandmaster Myth PvP guide to research about which wand stitches are the most popular.

  • would love to see the bosses school in these lists!

  • In 159. The Moon Is Down, the bosses spawn separately, not at the same time. You can fight just one boss and we didn’t have to fight the other because he spawned after the first battle. Just a tip

  • In 159. The Moon Is Down, the bosses spawn separately, not at the same time. You can fight just one boss and we didn’t have to fight the other because he spawned after the first battle. Just a tip

  • The Monkey and the Serpent quest has a mob fight before the boss, instead of explore.

    • The Tomb of the Sacred Spring has only the boss and its minion inside, there is no mob fight before that.

  • I actually love/hate this world. It’s one of the prettiest and has really nice biodiversity which is a huge plus to me. It’s just such a drag to go through…

  • If this helps anyone out you can press CTRL + G and search for you quests name 🙂

    • CTRL+F is the correct command for page search; G causes the windows sound to flare. Use F instead peeps.

      • Actually, on Chrome, CTRL+G also works the same as CTRL+F

    • or you can do CTRL + F

      • i did not see dgvert’s comment lol

  • Wouldn’t quest 26 include a puzzle?

    • 70 is also boss + explore + boss, not mob + explore + boss

      • ignore this, its like 4 am for me and I realized I was wrong.

  • I just spent a week breezing through the world, and I personally LOVED Azteca. I feel like each area is very unique and thus doesn’t feel repetitive like Mooshu or Dragonspyre, which gets tiring to look at. I love exploring all the different places and getting to know the layout of the areas (unlike in Krok through Dragonspyre, where I found it really hard to orient myself).
As someone who goes through the game for the story, I thought it was fairly compelling, although you do kinda forget what the grander scheme is when you’re solving conflicts between characters.
Overall it’s actually my favorite so far!

    • In my opinion, it keeps getting better and better from here <3

  • dang why do y’all hate this world so much

    • Its needlessly long and repetitive while your character gains only slightly more useful spells than in Avalon but the atmosphere of the world does not make up for the lack of interesting stuff like it does in Avalon

  • Oh my god

  • On 41 Nothing but a Heart Breaker, there is a boss fight.

  • 174 is actually in salt meadow swamp not in floating mountains, thanks for the great guide!

  • worst world to go through in this game

    • bruh 10/10 agree this is taking bricksssss

  • i hate this world. avalon and celestia were so much more fun than this.

    • good taste

    • zafaria was my favorite

    • celestia is the worst place ever you have only one mention of morganths bro

    • i personally disagree, i think that celestia was horrible, and although avalon was pretty nice i think azteca was great.

    • I personally disliked Celestia. I felt that is was really slow, although on the grand scheme of things, Celestia is a short world. I really liked Azteca because of all of the different areas (I do think it is a little bit too long). I thought Avalon was ok. It was much better than Celestia, but worse than Azteca.

  • ya i found that i was so confused lol.

  • castastrophe and the cure is a defeat and collect quest

    • Edited! Many thanks, Anthony 🙂

  • The instance “Enemy to all Azteca Kind” has two mobs at the start not only one.

    • i hate this world so much xD

  • During strong smooth words I had too fight the bosses 2 times so if you wanna change it go ahead it’s what happened to me

    • Happened to me, too. You have to open the cage first. Otherwise the boss respawns once you interact with it. I suspect a teammate of yours without the quest opened it for you.

  • 188, “Not a Cold Dead Place” should be a sigil quest as follows: mob; explore; mob; explore; instance; boss.

  • by the way, #62 is an instance quest, I was just letting you know

    • Thank you! Added that.

  • this is really helpful also gives me motivation to finish the area
    before i stop playing

  • I found it lol

  • I’ve searched this page many times but cannot find the quest “The Smell of Prickly Pear.” am i missing it or is it under a different quest line? Thanks!

    • It’s #100, during your first visit to the Cloudburst Forest 👍
