Halloween in Wizard101

Trick or Treat! October is here, and that can only mean one thing: the Halloween celebrations are back! The event usually starts at the very beginning of the month, and lasts until November. You’ll know it has begun when Jack Hallow appears in the Commons and Spooky Bob appears in the Shopping District.

This guide will cover everything you can do, farm for, or purchase during the Halloween season. There are usually discounts on or bundles of spooky items or pets as well. As always, Lord Nightshade in Haunted Cave, Wizard City is a reliable source of most, if not all, dropped wands and pets. There’s lots to cover with this event, so let’s dive right in!

Jack Hallow’s Quests

Halloween is one of the biggest events in Wizard101, so the Commons have been appropriately covered in spooky decorations! Jack Hallow will appear in the Commons, and has some fun quests to give you, if you are above level 5. You can complete the quests every year, even if you completed them last year. He will send you on a wild goose chase around Wizard City to light jack-o’-lanterns and find bobbing apples. One quest, “Baron of Nightmares”, will lead you to a Halloween-exclusive boss, Baron Mordecai, in Triton Avenue.

Jack has friends in Unicorn Way, Triton Avenue, Cyclops Lane, and Firecat Alley, that will also give you similar spooky quests. No, the rewards aren’t great, but it wouldn’t be Halloween without hearing “Trick or Treat! Trick or Treat! Give me something fun or sweet!” on repeat!

Halloween Dungeons

If you are above level 13, speak to Dworgyn in Nightside for the quest “Something Rotten in Nightside”. In the Mysterious Cave, you will find the Halloween-exclusive boss, Nosferrabit. Completing this quest will give you a free Frankenbunny pet, and access to some cool Transformation elixirs! This is the only way to get this creepy pet.

As well as Baron Mordecai and Nosferrabit, there are three Halloween-exclusive Towers in Ravenwood. These Towers all have 5 levels, with enemies on 4 of them. Any wizard over level 5 can access them, but they vary in difficulty. All the final bosses drop holiday items.

  • Apprentice Tower – final boss is Hallowe’en Trickster, Fire, Rank 3
  • Adept Tower – final boss is The Reaper, Death, Rank 4
  • Master Tower – final boss is Pumpkin Head, Fire, Rank 9

At least 21 of these creatures can have their animus extracted via Monstrology. If you’re completing your Tome, make sure you extract them now! Check out our full list for Wizard City to find them.

Dropped Spells

Listen up Death wizards and spell collectors: Halloween is the only time of year that you can get the spell Headless Horseman! Not only is it a possible drop from the Gloomthorn Nightmare Pack, it is also dropped by Loremaster in Dragonspyre and Bunferatu in Darkmoor (via spellements). Headless Horseman spellements can also be found in various Halloween-themed packs.

  • I’m surprised you didn’t mention this in the article, but it’s worth noting that (unless this wasn’t recent), it’s possible to buy the female Halloween robe for a male character and vice versa.

    • This is already mentioned in the article.

  • The mounts were a surprise for me! I feel like I haven’t been inactive for THAT long, yet most of those mounts were completely new to me. Thanks for the article, very useful 🙂
