Monstrology Creatures List
Wizard City

This post’s sole purpose is to collect and display the data of every monster available in Monstrology. Because of the sheer amount of monsters available in the entire game, this article will only display those available in Wizard City. The guide is organized by the creature’s name in alphabetical order. The creatures listed below can have their Animus captured through Extract Undead, Wyrm, Pig, Cyclops, Golem, Gobbler, Insect and Equine. Additionally, each monster’s name has been color coded and marked with a letter next to the creatures’ name so you can know which spell to use on them. The colors and letters are as you can see below.

With his main focus in Wizard101 PvE, you will find Cody knee deep fighting one of the Spiral's major bosses with an army of wizards at his disposal. Proficient in quite a few other areas of the game such as gardening, fishing, and most of all monstrology. Why monstrology? He chases after every single creature out there and catalogs them for all to see!

  • I need an update for this page! Haha, you’re missing quite a few, now there’s Equine Animus Horses, Zebras, Unicorns, and Centaurs…

There are others that need adding.

  • I think there is a bug in the game for the Loathsome Creeper in Mordecai’s Tower. That would appear to be the 114th monster for Wizard City. I just finished the tower, and it said I got the animus from it, but it’s not in my tome.

    • I’m at least partially wrong. I just checked again, and it appears the Loathsome Creeper animus from Mordecai’s Tower got sorted into the Dragonspyre section of the tome. This seems like an error since this instance is in Wizard City, and it should be a separate Loathsome Creeper than the one in Dragonspyre.

  • What about the Root Guardian found at the Alter Chamber Inside Bartably During the Quest that gives the Bartably Scion Badge

    • Not a repeatable creature, so cannot be included for monstrology.

  • Hey, just wanted to let you know that Ritual Draconian is no longer in the WC section, and is now in the DS section proper.

  • Is there no Animus for the Electric Eel on Triton Avenue?

  • I couldn’t find the maiden of hate in the apprentice tower, only in master tower, am I missing something? Thanks for this awesome list 🏴‍☠️

    • Sry couldn’t find maiden of hate in the adept or apprentice tower, only in master tower. Thank you for an awesome list 🏴‍☠️

      • that one only appears in the adept tower if there are 3+ wizards present! i found the same issue while looking for it

  • It’s me again! Guide and spreadsheet say 104/104, but in-game tome says there are 107 creatures in Wizard City. Absolutely no rush or anything but just thought I’d mention it.

    • I just noticed this today in the Summer Update/Test Realm notes: “Removed several mobs from Monstrology to avoid confusion with only new Wizards on the FTUE being able to get them”. That might explain it.

  • When will the main monstrology guide be updated? I see this list has all 104 for Wizard City but the main document still says 96. Or am I somehow missing the link to the updated spreadsheet?

    • Thanks for the reminder. I missed updating that one :/
Will have it ready in the coming days.

    • Downloadable tome has been updated!

  • I have tried looking on Wizard101 sites and have found no information on how to find these Veggie minions. I see that they are marked as seasonal but I am not sure what season they appear.

    • The Veggie enemies are available in Halloween. A quest is given from Dworgyn that leads you to Haunted Cave.

  • Is this possibly not all the way up to date or are the stats in game incorrect? It says in game that Wizard City has 104 things available.

    • Nervermind I see the new update info!!

  • Hello, I just found out that the Ritual creatures and Felix Photomonger III had been moved over to Dragonspyre and are no longer in Wizard City and was wondering if you were gonna change that soon. I have further proof of Felix being in Dragonspyre if you need it: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/466792075841765406/803089380402659328/Capture_5.PNG
Hopefully this makes sense why WC has 96 creatures now and DS has 104.

    • Well aware, thanks. Will be updating all the guides really soon. I managed to collect all the creatures for monstrology myself, so we are good on proof. Thanks anyway 🙂

  • You might want to change the number of people collected from 99 to 96 since the ritual mobs and Felix Photomonger were each swapped from Wizard City to DragonSpyre in the monstrology list.

    • Sorry that I posted this twice, I just found out that I had no proof of it XD

  • just curious, why is felix photomonger III listed in wizard city catagory, when the information says his animus is from crystal grove, dragonspyre?

    • I list them exactly like they are listed in the game. Felix was added with the WC Catacombs update which is why they probably added him here.

  • and this is just wizard city. wow glad to get all of them soon as i can.

    • Get to work! Lots of animus to extract 😉

  • new monstrology added. i just got treeminder ghost in the drains

    • Yep! You can expect a list shortly! 😀

  • Out of curiosity, would you be able to add (Requires Wooden Key) and such to the monsters that require them? For example Simon the Sayer and the Stone Key. Just as a way to warn others before they arrive at the door and realize they don’t have a key on them lol.

    • Sure, that could be done! Will need some time, though. I’m thinking of updating all the lists as soon as test realm goes to live 🙂

  • Just wanted to let you know that in the downloadable tome, there are two “Wailing Wraith”s listed incorrectly, there should be one. In addition it is missing “Howling Wraith” and the second “Haunted Minion” from Firecat Alley, bringing the total up to the correct 65. (All this in the “Wizard City” section.)

    • Missed that! Many thanks 🙂

  • i have 2 haunted minions in my monstrology tome. one with and one without the description. the one without description might be the one you guys are missin

    • You are absolutely right! Thanks!
Wizard City is now complete 😀

  • I encountered a bug where I wanted to make, a Howling Wraith as a house guest. Unfortunately, it became a Wailing Wraith.

  • What about the Stomper, Orrick Nightglider’s minion? Isn’t that considered a colossus?

    • It is indeed, however it is not included in monstrology 🙁
