Maxine Rockhoppierre Boss Guide

With the new world of Novus in Wizard101, a whole new set of top tier max level gear has been released, called Aeon gear. The drops of this gear have been spread out among various bosses throughout Novus. Maxine Rockhoppierre is a boss located in La Ville De Rose who will drop the new athames.

Accessing Maxine

Maxine will be fought in the main questline of Novus. When you enter La Ville De Rose, walk straight past the Megrim mobs and right into this igloo to find the boss.

Maxine’s Stats

Maxine will spawn with 3 Storm/Death minions. These minions are rank 20 and have 2,905 health. Once the minions are killed, Maxine will also summon an Abberant Maxine. Below are the stats and spells the bosses will use.

Cheats

If you want the newest and best athames, you will have to get past a few cheats to obtain it. The following cheats will be present throughout the fight:

“Dasein protects me!” At the beggining of the first round, Maxine will become immune to all attacks.

“Vive la revolution!” After defeating all the minions, Maxine will summon Aberrant Maxine into the fight. She will also cast frenzy, allowing her to be attacked

Strategy

The strategy for this fight is to kill the minions first. After they are defeated, you will be able to focus on killing the 2 bosses that remain. Here is what the fight could look like with a full team. I used this strategy below on a storm wizard with 206% damage and 40% pierce. Additional turns may be needed if your damage is lower or if the boss casts an Equalize.

Drops

Maxine has many different drops. The main drops from the boss are the Aeon and Masterpiece athames. Aeon is the tier one athame, while Masterpiece is the tier two athame and is used to craft the Aeon athame.

The recipe to craft an Aeon athame:

9 Masterpiece athames (of any school)
32 Pixels
20 Polygons

The boss also drops spellements for Karamelle, Lemuria, and Novus spells. Various new jewels and pins for max level will also drop from this fight. On top of that the occasional Azoth TC can slso be dropped from this boss.

Conclusion

Overall, this boss is not too much of a challenge. Once you know what you are doing, farming this boss becomes quite simple. The athames are a direct upgrade to merciless gear which makes the boss worth doing. If you are looking for some of the best gear in the spiral, this is the boss to farm.
