Krokotopia Crafting Quest

This guide will lead you through the steps to get your SECOND crafter badge, Apprentice Crafter. After you get the Novice Crafter badge in Wizard City, Eudora will give you a second quest right away. You don’t have to be any specific level to get this crafting quest. The only prerequisite is that you’ve finished the Wizard City crafting quest. You can read all about the Novice Crafter quest in my previous guide here.

How do we begin?

After you finish your Novice Crafter quest in Wizard City, Eudora Tangletree will direct you to talk to Wul’Yahm in the Oasis of Krokotopia. You can find him on one of the islands on the left when you come out of the Spiral pyramid.

Quests required to get your crafting badge:

  1. Krok Watcher: Talk to Wul’yahm
  2. Ring in the New: Craft 2 Rings of Insight
  3. A Set of Steak Knives: Craft 2 Poniards of Gallantry

1. Krok Watcher

  • Mission: Talk to Wul’yahm
  • How: Type “X” on your keyboard when you’re near him :p
  • Where: In the Oasis of Krokotopia

2. Ring in the New

  • Mission: Craft 2 Rings of Insight

Step 1: Buy the recipe

Buy the recipe from Wul’yahm by pressing “X” on your keyboard when you’re close to him. There will be the option “Recipe shop“. Search for the item called “Ring of Insight” and click “Buy“. Press “J” on your keyboard. You should now be able to see the recipe.

Step 2: Get the reagents

Get the reagents mentioned in the recipe. To make 2 Rings of Insight, we need:

  • 2 Citrine
  • 12 Simple Vial
  • 8 Parchment
  • 12 Stone Block

Did you notice I doubled the ingredients needed in the recipe? I did this because — for every crafting quest — you need to make TWO of the item.

Where to get the reagents:

  • Citrine and Simple Vial can be bought from Al Saf’wan, who is conveniently located next to Wul’yahm. You can also buy these in the Bazaar, but generally Reagent Vendors offer them at a lower price.
  • Parchment and Stone Block can be bought in the Bazaar or harvested in the Spiral. Parchment is found in various places in Krokotopia, while Stone Blocks are most common in Dragonspyre and Avalon. Do not despair: you can find them in Krokotopia too. I personally recommend the Entrance Hall for collecting both of these reagents (the Entrance Hall is right inside the pyramid when you’ve taken the Ferry on the right in the Oasis).

Why the entrance hall?

entranceThe entrance hall has three spots for Parchment (marked in purple) and three spots for Stone Blocks (marked in yellow). Pick up the reagents you see while running from the entrance doors up the stairs, down the other side and back to the entrance doors. Then change realms and repeat. To change realms, press ctrl+M on your keyboard and pick a different realm. Or press “Esc” and it will bring up your book, click on the “Realm” and change it from there.

Step 3: Craft the rings

Go to your home and use the Basic Crafting table. If you’ve accidentally sold your Crafting Station, you can buy a new one from any of the Furniture Vendors in the Spiral (closest one: take the Ferry to Krokosphinx and talk to Ea‛Rik). Craft two Rings of Insight. You will have to wait half an hour for the crafting slot to free up again after crafting the first.

Afterwards, talk to Wul’Yahm. He will give you the third quest you need to complete in order to get your Apprentice Crafter badge.

3. A Set of Steak Knives

  • Mission: Craft 2 Poniards of Gallantry

Step 1: Buy the recipe

Just like for the rings, you need to buy the recipe from Wul’yahm.

Step 2: Get the reagents

Get the reagents mentioned in the recipe. To make 2 Poniards of Gallantry, we need:

  • 12 Jade
  • 6 Simple Vials
  • 10 Deep Mushroom
  • 10 Stone Blocks

Where to get the reagents:

  • Jade and Simple Vial can be bought from Al Saf’wan, who is conveniently located next to Wul’yahm. You can also buy these in the Bazaar, but generally Reagent Vendors offer them at a lower price.
  • Deep Mushroom and Stone Block can be bought in the Bazaar or harvested in the Spiral. Stone Blocks are found in stoney places, while Deep Mushroom is most common in dark areas without sunlight. Think of any place where everything seems gloomy and a little wet, and you’re sure to find Deep Mushrooms there. In Wizard City, there’s the Dark Cave for example. For Krokotopia, one recommendation could be the Ahnic Family Tomb.

Why the Ahnic Family Tomb?

ahnic family tomb crafting quest krokotopiaThe Ahnic Family Tomb is by no means the ONLY place in Krokotopia where you can find a lot of Deep Mushrooms. It does, however, have six spots of Deep Mushroom (marked in purple on the map) as well as several wooden chests, several spots for Parchment and several spots for Stone Block.

Run around in the area, pick up what you see and then change realms and repeat. To change realms, press ctrl+M on your keyboard and pick a different realm (less crowded ones are usually good when collecting reagents). Or press “Esc” and it will bring up your book, click on the “Realm” and change it from there.

Step 3: Craft the poniards

Go to your home and use the Basic Crafting table. If you haven’t sold it, your crafting table should be in your home already, or in your backpack. If you have lost yours, you can buy a new one from the Furniture Vendors in the Spiral (closest one: take the Ferry to Krokosphinx and talk to Ea’Rik). Once you have your table, craft two Poniards of Gallantry.

Afterwards, talk to Wul’Yahm. He will grant you your Apprentice Crafter badge and give you the quest to start your third questing adventure in Marleybone.
