Blacksmith’s Fjord Bundle

How long has it been since you’ve last set your foot in Grizzleheim? Well, however long that is, it is time to revisit this world through the Blacksmith’s Fjord Bundle! This is one of Wizard101’s latest additions obtainable from Gamestop’s online store. Like many other standard bundles, it costs $39.

  • Forgemaster’s Gear
  • Forgemaster’s Sword
  • Forge Goblin Pet
  • Fjord Dragon Mount
  • Blacksmith’s Fjord Castle
  • 5,000 Crowns or one month membership

Here’s the Fjord Dragon mount from the new bundle. I REALLY like this one: a mix of Norse dragons, sharks/fish, and nature. Had so much fun with the design and this painting 🙂 @Wizard101 @KingsIsle #wizard101 #dragon #videogames #conceptart #nature #green #shark #norseAdam Roush

Forgemaster’s Gear

Personally, I usually look at bundle gear specifically for the aesthetics, but this time ’round I might just pass up on that. The design compared with some other items we’ve seen in the past is not as impressive. On the other hand, it can be dyed to different colors so perhaps one can try that to find the design they’re looking for.

The stats behind the gear are ok, so they’re as good as you can expect from bundle gear with no set bonuses. If you are trying to avoid any farming from bosses for the best gear, this will do just fine. One thing I must truly praise are the item cards. The hat offers Hammer of Thor, the robe has Grendel’s Amends and the boots have Ratatoskr’s Spin. I would totally recommend or use the boots myself if I am leveling a low level life wizard. They’re also useful at higher levels in some specific situations.

Forgemaster’s Sword

A weapon whose design makes it all worth it, especially if you are a Sorcerer (Balance) or a Pyromancer (Fire). The stats aren’t bad either. Starting from level 10+, you are provided with an extra starting pip, which, at that level is beyond precious. The max level available at the moment is level 140+ which provides quite decent stats. However, I personally wouldn’t mind a little more critical rating or perhaps pierce.

Forge Goblin Pet

The pet is the most mysterious item found inside this bundle. Fairly safe to say that we haven’t seen anything similar to it yet, which makes it quite appealing. Additionally, it offers a 2 pip Shatter card once the pet is leveled to Teen and again at Ancient. We aren’t sure whether it provides even more copies at later stages, so if you find any of the information still to be discovered do let us know in the comments.

The Forge Goblin seems to be a pet for Necromancers even though it offers a Myth item card. Some of the talents discovered so far seem to be aimed for the Death school including the combat talent, Plague Trained.

Talents

  • Attentive (Selfish)
  • Death-Shot
  • Canny (Selfish)
  • Tenacious (Selfish)
  • Health Boost
  • Plague Trained (Combat)
  • Death-Dealer
  • Death-Proof
  • Death Assailant
  • Forceful (Selfish)

Derby

  • ???
  • Exhaust
  • Distract
  • Mega-Leech
  • Baffle
  • Scoot
  • Eat My Dirt
  • Stall
  • Unbreakable
  • Big Hurry

Fjord Dragon Mount

This mount on its own might be worth the bundle’s cost in my opinion. It is certainly no re-design of any previous mount we’ve seen. The unique dragon based design and its fresh animations are the main selling point. It has a superb idle animation that spins around a full 360 degrees. Something remotely similar to this would be the Battle Narwhal from the Polarian Explorer’s Bundle.

Blacksmith’s Fjord Castle

Not sure about you guys, but whenever a new bundle castle arrives in the game the first thing I do is try running into every single wall. Kingsisle loves their hidden secret areas in these castles! The Blacksmith Fjord is no different! Try running into the waterfall behind the PvP arena and see what you find.

Upon entering the Blacksmith’s Fjord you may find yourself losing your breath, but that is quite the normal reaction one would expect. You will find yourself on a little dock next to a Spiral Door where you will find the view of the sky and mountains simply amazing! The house itself isn’t as large as you’d expect, but the design seems to make up for that. Along with the castle, you will be provided with an Additional Castle Elixir just in case you already hit your castles limit.

Inside the castle you will find a forge that as you can expect provides your wizard with a daily reward. Surprisingly enough, from reports around the community it seems that the forge rewards reagents and decent ones too! Some reward attempts even include Diamonds and Amber. Additionally, a new reagent was located here, but its use is still quite the mystery. Take a look at the Star Iron reagent below thanks to Artsy Fartsy Micah on Twitter.

The outside allows wizards to participate in some magical fishing. Don’t miss your chance to grab the new Steelhead Doodlefish. Some other fish that were located here are the Fish and Chips, Tattoo Fish, Jackson Pollock and Garrrfish and other temporary seasonal fish. Huge thanks to Iridian Willowglen for the information!
