Monstrology Creatures List
Khrysalis

This post’s sole purpose is to collect and display the data of every monster available in Monstrology. Because of the sheer amount of monsters available in the entire game, this article will only display those available in Khrysalis. The guide is organized by the creature’s name in alphabetical order. The creatures listed below can have their Animus captured through Extract Undead, Treant, Wyrm, Spider and Insect. Additionally, each monster’s name has been color coded and marked with a letter next to the creatures’ name so you can know which spell to use on them. The colors and letters are as you can see below.

Extract Undead (U)

Extract Wyrm
(W)

Extract Treant
(T)

Extract Spider

Insects (IS)

If you’d like to learn more about Monstrology, our introduction article can be found here! Additionally, our very own Cody RavenTamer created the downloadable monstrology excel list complete with every creature available in monstrology. Click the button below to be directed to it for your very own copy of the list. Note that the document will be updated after there are updates to monstrology in game.

With his main focus in Wizard101 PvE, you will find Cody knee deep fighting one of the Spiral's major bosses with an army of wizards at his disposal. Proficient in quite a few other areas of the game such as gardening, fishing, and most of all monstrology. Why monstrology? He chases after every single creature out there and catalogs them for all to see!

  • I am unable to collect the elder magus creature in the hive, it had a message that was along the lines of “Cannot collect animus – monster not collectable”. It only showed up once, but I tried to collect it again and it didn’t show up with an error message the second time, still don’t have it in my tome. Wondering if it’s just me or if they’re taking it out of the tome?

  • What category of monster is the sky screamer in Tyrion Gorge?

    • P.S. I’ve tried undead and insect to no avail.

    • Not every monster has extractable animus, I don’t believe Sky Screamer can currently be extracted.

  • Tree Root (Death Elite) (the tree root respawn) is no longer collectible. So it should not be listed here.

    • What do you mean exactly? I still have it in my monstrology tome. I haven’t tried to extract animus from it in a while, but still visible in the tome.

  • Still wondering why Santa murete cant be extracted with extract dino despite being a moon skull parasaur like all the others that can be extracted in azteca

  • Just an FYI I accidentally discovered that the dragon beetle is both a wyrm and an insect. Hope this helps.

  • How in the world do you extract the elite death root? I’ve tried probably 5 times now summoning him in the Moros fight and using extract Treant on him, but it never lets me extract. Is there some other fight with the tree roots I don’t know about? I’m desperate for help lol

  • Is there going to be an extract shadow weaver and extract bear cards

    • Unfortunately, there is no news from Kingsisle yet.

  • arkyn moonblade was removed

    • Will be updating soon. Right now only the Summer 2021 list is updated.

  • they just added INSECT Monstrology Card in Krysalis so this isnt up to date as of 8/16/21

  • Dragon Beetle can also be taken with insect not only wyrm

  • Thank you so much for the confirmation, I have solo’d Ghost dog like 3 times trying to get the SK animus and assuming i did something wrong

    • Previously, you could obtain them through monstrology, but they were added by mistake. SK is a creature that is summoned in combat by another creature. This is something that is not allowed in monstrology according to devs.

  • Just a heads up, one or two of these are incorrect, there are a few non-repeatable creatures on here. Spider Adept is the only one that comes to mind. Not sure if that changes the counts, but just a heads up

    • This guide is actually fully up-to-date. The Spider Adept is actually found in the Hive in either the Black Hole instance or in a dungeon with just them named Adepts Chamber.

  • Could you please update the list? there are now 48 mobs.

  • The last monstrology creature is the Seijun Killer, a Pig found near any place Ghost Dog lurks. Unfortunately, W101 is having some monstrology issues right now and it’s one of many whose animus aren’t collectible right now because of a bug.

    http://www.wizard101central.com/wiki/Creature:Seijun_Killer

    • Actually, Seijun Killer was permanently removed from monstrology because creatures summoned by other creatures are not supposed to be included. Thus, the missing creature is actually another as when SK was removed the numbers went down with it, but there was still another one missing at the time.

  • I feel like I’m missing a couple of the Tree Roots, but I’m not how to tell which ones I got or how to spawn the ones I don’t have.

    • There are 2 sets of Tree Roots – the minions and the bosses. The bosses are the ones you find automatically when you join the duel. The minions spawn after defeating one of the bosses. The empty spots will keep being filled up by minions.

      • You only put 7 tree roots on there. There are 8 roots in total.

        • Count again mate 🙂
