L70 Poseidon Gear vs Waterworks

The Showdown!

You have probably heard by now that the Poseidon gear from Atlantea isn’t too bad. Many have noted that it’s a “Waterworks Upgrade”, but it’s very hard to tell if that’s actually true. We present to you a side-by-side comparison of the WW and Poseidon gear!

Looking at the stats side-by-side, it is easy to see that the Poseidon gear isn’t really a WW upgrade. It has less resist and damage, but adds crit, pierce, and health. It also adds accuracy for Balance/Life/Death while adding pips for Fire/Ice/Storm/Myth. Generally, the Poseidon gear seems set up for more aggressive play styles.

The one exception is the Poseidon boots which (generally) give more health, more resist, armor piercing, and more critical block. They also give accuracy to B/L/D and pips to S/M/I/F. The drawback is slightly less damage and slightly less accuracy or pips, depending on your school.

The one issue with the boot comparison is that many players at this level don’t use WW boots anymore, opting for the crafted boots from Avalon or Zafaria (depending on their level).  So, in the interest of creating the best guide possible, we’re going to compare those also.
