Ice Deckathalon Rewards

With the ongoing Ice Deckathalon, many players are climbing their way through the challenges of the tower. However there are still those wizards who kept to the sidelines of the event, but nonetheless would like to know what rewards this event can offer. If that’s you, then this is your guide!

First of all, where can you get these rewards? Most of them are offered by the crafting vendor, Kara RuneWright, at the end of the each stage. However, there are still some rewards available only through the event’s progress bar and as drops from the creatures in tower!

Dropped Rewards

KingsIsle suggested the enemies at the last stage might be dropping some desirable items, but we haven’t found that many yet… if you come across anything unusual, let us know in the comments!

  • The above commenter is 101% correct. Nothing in a game should ever be exclusive. There are so many other advantages that the “elite” think make them better than those without those advantages.
Here are some examples of those advantages:
    – Paying for an extra character slot (a 7th wizard means a faster way to have acquired runes plus practice runs). Has anyone ever deleted a character just to make a new one to gain more credits?
    – Playing deckathalon from the very start (was unlimited credits way back when)
    – An extra account (tc holder)
    – Glitched out max gardens (to earn gold and mega snacks to feed willcast pets)
    – Pets (used to be an all maycast pet, now a willcast is the ultimate advantage). For over a year, a few in the know were using a willcast talent that automatically defeated the opponent on the left. Look at the top place finishers the past year to see how some scores greatly differed from others.
    – Unknown advantages (the above willcast talent + certain elixirs, and who knows what else)
    – Higher level advantage (higher lvl wizards have higher max amount of gold and superior jewels. They also have access to worlds with tc vendors)
    – Friends like me (I share information as I believe sharing info for a game is the entire purpose for such a game to exist. Plus I’m friendly)
    – Paying to play (Did I say paying already? It gets another mention here for those who bought/buy deckathalon packs and Scroll of Fortune which once gave the Pigsie jewel among others)
    – Back to the unknown and sharing info (Plant seeds such as certain Jewel Seeds to get jewels for those higher up decks. Also plant fish-on-a-vine and/or boiled peanuts to get a nice supply of top tier treasure cards. Other seeds may also be helpful)
    – Time and devotion (Top players are not necessarily better than others; they just simply have more free time on their hands)
There are more tips. Such as taking notes. Find the enemy’s hp posted online and grab a calculator, figure out the math (knowing which enemies shield, heal, weakness, etc) then take notes on how you do, including enemy damage done to you and your damage done to the enemy.

There are probably more advantages I’m not thinking of at the moment. But to reiterate, a badge exclusive for the Number 1 Top Finisher in each event is ludicrous. It is beyond reasonable to think that the game creators who decided upon this, took this decision among advice given by the select few who wanted a badge they knew they’d be a select few to actually contend for it. If that sentence of mine is hard to comprehend, compare it to the absurdity to create a badge for the sole top finisher.
Btw Ravino, you forgot the sought out Deckath-elite badge (which I plan to accomplish this December if time allows). Finish in the Top 10 in all 7 deckathalons to earn the deckath-elite badge.

  • While I think it’s nice to reward those who do well in the deckathalons, I think having badges that are for only those who get first place is kind of absurd. While yes, everyone can do it, some people have advantages over others which will only be harder and harder to overcome as some people will automatically have advantages, like already having a higher tier deck, allowing them to easily go through floors and the ranks while the newer players simply don’t have those advantages.
