Grim Ferryman Pack
This time of the year doesn’t just bring darker and gloomier weather, but it also brings us some long awaited Halloween festivities for Wizard101. As can be expected, we get the chance to open up some Halloween Nightmare packs like in previous years, but this year we have an added surprise. For 2021, Kingsisle added the Grim Ferryman Pack with both new and familiar items inside.
As you can imagine, we have the standard gear sets, mounts, pets and much more which we will be going through together in this article. As a note, we opened up 101 Grim Ferryman Packs + 10 additional packs obtained for free from the temporary Grim Crowns Reward Event. That is 40,000 crowns spent. Before I share exactly what the results and my opinions are, take a look at the items that can be unlocked from within.
Note: In 2022, the Grim Ferryman Pack was updated to the Cerberus Master Pack.
Gear Sets and Set Bonuses
When it comes to stats, I haven’t been a fan of pack gear for quite some time now. Doesn’t mean they’re bad, but there are simply better options out there in my opinion. A feature that intrigued me here were the set bonuses. It doesn’t just impact the wizard’s stats, but it may also help by achieving pips in combat. Truth be told it is not that plausible to achieve, as you need 6 items, but I’m quite intrigued to see what else we may see in the future. Also, sorry PvP folks but this feature has been banned from the arena.
On the other hand, simply take a look at the design found on this gear. It is beyond anything we could ever desire for our wizards. I think many of you will agree with me as I’ve seen quite a lot of wizards adding this gear as their stitches, especially the hats.
Gear Set Designs
I’ve been featuring the designs that Adam Roush, a Concept Artist at Kingsisle, shares on Twitter more and more lately. That is for quite a justified reason. Simply take a look below. The concept for the gear design in this pack is phenomenal. Check out Adam’s Twitter for loads more of the amazing work being done.

Scythe Weapons
The damage on these weapons is quite nice, but I think we can all agree that there are better options out there. Which is really a good thing since these weapons are only available for a short, seasonal period once a year. As everything else in this pack, I must applaud the design of these weapons, they call back to the scythe weapons from the original Nightmare pack.

Ferry Mounts
At last! We finally reached my favorite part from this pack! Perhaps the second favorite part after the hats, but moving on… The design speaks for itself and requires no further explanation. Something more you’d like to know about these mounts is that they’re all three passenger mounts and give +1 damage stat.
Something noteworthy about these mounts is that there are actually four. Don’t be fooled by that! This pack actually only has three mounts. The forth mount which is called the Tartarus Ferry (purple) is only available from the temporary crowns reward event once you spend 40,000 crowns.

Goatling Pets
Something I usually use to describe pets in Wizard101 is “adorable”, because aren’t they all? This time though, I’m not that certain. The goatlings seem like a balanced mix of adorable and terrifying yet somehow still turning up quite appealing! Check them out with the talents we managed to uncover so far.

Housing Items
Nothing too major to report in this department, but there are some noteworthy items our housing enthusiasts might want to check out. If you are setting up a Halloween carnival or decorating your castle with a Fall theme, then check out the below items. You might also get a chance to obtain some spooky housing guests including ghouls, wraiths and scarecrows.
Autumnal Stygian Tree (No Auction)
Grim Bat
Balloon
Grim Spider
Balloon
Stygian
Leaves
Miscellaneous Drops
Besides the standard low tier pet snacks and some random reagents the most noteworthy items would be the fact that you may get Evil Magma Peas and some remarkable pets. In the Grim Ferryman Pack you may get the Jack O Lantern and Ygor’s Grimoire pets. They’re not top tier pets, but they’re certainly not bad to start with.
Closing Thoughts
After spending 40,000 crowns on this pack to test what items one would obtain, I must conclude that it basically follows any other common pack. The mounts are what seems to be most elusive, but then again with RNG anything can happen. This time I must report that after all those packs (111 opened packs total) I didn’t obtain one single permanent mount. Plenty of 7-day mounts, but as we all know that is just disappointing compared to the real deal.
At least, thanks to the crowns event I got the perm Tartarus Ferry mount which is nice, considering you get a perm mount for sure after spending a certain amount. The gear seems quite common, but I failed to obtain one of the hats. I got at least one of each other item, including the weapons.
